The Episcopal Church and Our Parish

Christ Church offers a variety of activities to assist parishioners of all ages to grow in knowledge, love, and faith. Our educational programs have a firm foundation in liturgical and faith traditions that have been passed down for many centuries.

The Episcopal Church operates within an Anglican tradition that has a distinct intellectual profile, the "middle way" originally developed to mediate between the doctrines of Geneva and Rome. Its point is not to seek a lowest common denominator but to pursue vigorous intellectual engagement with differing points of view, to encourage spiritual discovery by listening carefully and responding thoughtfully to others. We believe that these habits of mind are as valuable today as ever and we strive to cultivate them in all our educational programs.

B Lloyd Thoughts on Restorative Justice

Take a look at what our own The Rev. R. Balwin "B" Lloyd (retired Episcopal priest) is thinking about "restorative justice" and the so-called "justice" system in our country today! Also available at this link are B's 2012 reflections on the events on the VPI campus at the death of the Reverend Martin Luther King in 1968 and on the deaths of 32 students and faculty on the VT campus in 2006.
